Alandzes Funeral for George A. Alandzes, 88, Lawton, is pending with Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Mr. Alandzes died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at a local care center. ========= Lawton Constitution 14 Dec 2003 George Ambrosia Alandzes Graveside service for George A. Alandzes, 88, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Cemetery with the Rev. J.O. Howard, pastor, The Church of God, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Alandzes died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at a local nursing center. Arrangements are under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born May 25, 1915, in Carnegie to Ambrosia Hernandez and Nellie Noggles. He grew up in the Fort Cobb and Carnegie area. He attended school at Little Wichita. He married Lois Dupoint on May 16, 1933, in Carnegie. She later died. He married Alberta M. Dexter on May 3, 1982, in Lawton. Before moving to Lawton in 1950, he was employed by Zellner Ford Motor Company and Jake Witzel Ford Motor Company of Mountain View. After moving to Lawton, he was employed by the Lawton-Fort Sill Bus Company and OTASCO. He was also self-employed as an auto mechanic for many years. He was a Baptist. His survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Tony Alandzes and wife, Jean, Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters: Georgia Beger, Lawton; and Verlon Hopkins, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Minnie Seahmer, Oklahoma City; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Alandzes and her son, both of Las Vegas; two stepsons: Roy Griggs Jr. and his wife, Janet, and Michael Griggs and his wife, Lesli, all of Oklahoma City; four stepdaughters: Carolyn Smith and her husband, Jeff, Ohio; Marilyn Tyler and husband, David, Lawton; Robin Gonsiewski and her husband, Jim, Greensboro, N.C.; and Anita Nicely, Tulsa; 12 grandchildren; 14 step- grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
