Alfred Beasley, 86, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Jim McGuire, chaplain, Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, officiating. Sergeant Beasley died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born Oct. 31, 1918, in Lillington, N.C., to John Henry and Gillie Ann Barefoot Beasley. He grew up in Fuqua, N.C., and he joined the Army on Sept. 5, 1939. He retired Feb. 28, 1969, with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea. While in the Army, he earned the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster and V for Valor. After his retirement, he went into the drapery industry for many years. He married Evelyn F. McClaid on Dec. 31, 1964, in Livingston, Wyo. She died March 5, 2000. He married Linda L. Levine on Aug. 18, 2003, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, Mount Scott Lodge No. 540, the Elks Lodge and the Retired Service Personnel Association. He was a Methodist and a 32nd-degree Mason with a 50-year service pin. Survivors Include his wife, of the home; a son, Dennis Earl Beasley, Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter, Sarah Francis Wheatley, Stillwater; three brothers: Allison Beasley, Raleigh, N.C.; James Dee Beasley, Dunn, N.C.; and Raymond Beasley, Willow Springs, N.C.; two grandsons: Justin Beasley and Christopher Beasley, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Wheatley, Stillwater. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lissie Mae Ashworth; and a brother, Harvey C. Beasley.
