All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 7 Mar 2003 Naomi Pauline Bigbee PERRY — Funeral for former Lawton resident Naomi Pauline Bigbee, 93, Perry, will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Montie Jones, pastor, Lawton Heights United Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Bigbee died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at a Perry care center. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. She was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Lawton. She attended and graduated from Lawton High and Cameron College. She married Burton H. Bigbee on July 5, 1933, and they lived in Lawton. She worked for civil service for 30 years, beginning during World War II. She was an office clerk for several federal agencies including the Soil Conservation Service and the Farmer’s Home Administration. She processed federal loans for area farmers. She was a member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church where she served as church treasurer for many years, and sponsor for the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class and the Methodist Women’s Association. She was also a member of several clubs, including the National Secretaries’ Association, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Lawton Pioneer Club and the Sweet Pea Garden Club. She also supported and worked with area charities such as Meals-On-Wheels. Survivors include three grandchildren: Robert Bigbee, Stillwater; Linda Bigbee, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Laura Bigbee-Fott, Vancouver, B.C.; three great- grandchildren: James Bigbee, Hannah Bigbee and Burton Fott; a daughter-in-law, Karen Bigbee, Perry; a sister-in-law, Lucille Maxwell, Ponca City; three nieces: Lynda Williams, Morrison; Joanna Longley, Manhattan, Kan.; and Beverly Cowan, Elizabeth City, N.C.; two nephews: Burton L. Maxwell; Albuquerque, N.M.; and Edwin Glenn; Santa Cruz, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son; and a brother, Donald Glenn.
