All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Butler, Verna Lee St. Johns' Baptist Church Funeral Card Verna Lee Butler was born July 28, 1908 in Honey Grove, Texas to Mr. & Mrs. Henry Phillips. At an early age she confessed a hope in Christ. She moved to Hobart, Oklahoma, met and married Mr. C.W. Butler and to this union, fifteen children were born. Mr. Butler and seven children preceded her in death. On moving to Lawton, Oklahoma in 1935, she united with the St John Baptist Church. She was the Mother of the Church, and worked untiringly with the Missionary Circle Number One. Saturday morning she departed this life leaving to mourn her home going, six daughters, Mrs. Gratye Mae Clay, Mrs. Ruthie Mae Easter, Mrs. Murlene Thomas, Ms Shirley Butler, and Mrs. Morel Wooten, all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Mrs Florence G.
