Cook, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Billingslea died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born July 31, 1910, in Noble to William H. and Cenia Dufran Specht. She moved to Norman with her mother and brother after the death of her father in 1921. They moved to Lawton in 1924, and she graduated from Lawton High School. She graduated from Cameron College before attending Central State College, Edmond. She married Pressley Hunter Kinsey on Aug. 13, 1933, in Walters. The marriage ended in 1936. She married Don Billingslea on Feb. 11, 1944, in Henrietta, Texas. She served several terms as president of Rotary Anns and the Sweet Pea Garden Club. She was also a member of the board of directors for Camp Fire Girls. She served as Sunday school superintendent and program developer for early childhood Christian education at First Baptist Church for 35 years. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Doris Jeanne and Bill O'Connell, Norman; Marilyn and Richard Hogue, Edmond; and Blanche and Charles Gildart, Plano, Texas; four granddaughters: Mary Anne Lewis, Lake Oswego, Ore.; Laura O'Connell, Norman; Jeanie O'Connell, Golita, Calif.; and Leslie Stanton Gildart, Somerville, Mass.; five grandsons: Don Laurence Smith and Mark Randall Smith, both of Lawton; Charles Rolland Gildart III, Durham, N.C.; Stephen Israel Hogue, Edmond; and John Jeremy Hogue, Aliso Viegas, Calif.; seven great-granddaughters: Carrie Elizabeth Lewis, Barcelona, Spain; Kelly Anne Long and Abigail Leigh Prock, both of Norman; Lea Anne Smith, Baton Rouge, La.; Laura Elizabeth Smith, Oklahoma City; Amy Christine Smith, Lawton; and Madison Taylor Hogue, Aliso Viegas; six great-grandsons: Brent Laurence Smith, Norman; Rian O'Connell Lewis, Lake Oswego,; Levi Hogue, and Coleman Crew Hogue, both of Edmond; Samson David Plaisted, Somerville; and Charles Rolland Gildart IV, Durham; two great-great-granddaughters: Madeline Long and Peyton Prock, both of Norman; three nieces; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lois Anne Smith; and a stepson-in-law, Larry E. Smith Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
