Bowen Funeral for retired Master Sgt. Harold R. Bowen, 69, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Rudek, pastor, Chattanooga First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Bowen died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Garden City, Kan., to Dean and Berdie Schoolfield Bowen. He grew up in Garden City. He joined the Air Force on May 7, 1953, and served in Korea and Vietnam. He retired Dec. 31, 1973. He was employed at DFAS from 1997 until his death. He married Carol Hedgecock on July 14, 1990, in Colorado Springs, Colo. Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons and two daughters-in- law: Dwane Bowen, Pennsylvania; Terry Bowen, South Dakota; Eugene and Jami Bowen, Lawton; and Wayne and Shelly May, Arizona; a daughter and son-in- law, Melissa and Christopher Charity, New York; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Cheryl and Luther Martin, Colorado; Chalcia Hubbard, Texas; and Darlene and George Horner, Kansas; 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Michael, David, Jessica, James, Matthew, Samantha, Tyler, Adrianna, Theresa and Christina; and a great-granddaughter, Julianna.
