Bonnell, 81, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 20, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sunset Memorial Gardens at Lawton, Okla. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia Street. Mr. Bonnell was born in Fort Sumner, N. M., graduated from high school in Gallup, N. M. and attended New Mexico State University. He graduated from Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and entered the Army in 1940. He served in Europe during World War II, in Japan from 1947 until 1949 and during the Korean War. He moved to Amarillo in 1958 from Hawaii as a Senior Adviser to the Army Reserve Forces in the Panhandle. He retired in 1962. He managed the Heritage House Apartments from 1965 until 1976 and Wellington Manor Apartments from 1970 until 1972. He also managed First Presbyterian Church and San Jacinto Baptist Church. He married Dorotha Mae Wickens in 1945 at Fort Worth. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patti Jones of Amarillo; a son, Robert E. of Marengo, Iowa; a sister, Bess Windsor of Riverside, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001; or American Parkinson's Disease Association, P.O.
