Mr. Bower died Saturday, May 4, 2002. ========= Lawton Constitution 7 May 2002 Steven C. Bower Funeral for retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Steven C. Bower, 49, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Post Chapel, Fort Sill, with Chaplain Maj. John Michno officiating. Mr. Bower died Saturday, May 4, 2002, in Lawton. Burial with military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born May 23, 1952, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Charles and Geneva Bower. He joined the Army in 1970 and retired after 24 years of service. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal with third Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with fifth Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with first Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal second award, Vietnam Service Medal with two service stars, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two service stars, Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. He was employed by Northrop Grumman. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Ronald Heath, Arlington, Texas; his mother and stepfather, Geneva and Leonard Blinn, Bakersfield; his former wife, Jan Bigham, Lawton; a special friend, Sherri Garrison, Elgin; a sister, Janet Bruschi, Atascadero, Calif.; and a brother, David Bower, Clovis, Calif.
