All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 26 Feb 2003 William ‘Bill’ Allison Barbee GLENDALE, Ariz. — William “Bill” Allison Barbee, 90, went to be with his Lord and heavenly family Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003. Service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chapel of the Chimes in Glendale. Bill was born April 21, 1912, in Lawton. Bill and his wife, Mary, moved to Arizona on July 4, 1934, and he was hired by the J.G. Boswell Co. He was shop and ranch foreman for the former Goodyear Ranch in Chandler, Ariz., the Marinette Ranch (now called Sun City) and the Eloy Arizona Ranch. He was a great farmer and loved his beautiful cotton fields. He was amazed to see them grow from cotton to homes. He was an ardent bowler. He was president and served as past president of the Glendale branch of The Woodmen of the World and was a member for 60 years. Bill was a wonderful father and loving husband, grandfather, great- grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, and was dearly loved by his numerous nieces and nephews. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, William F. and Judy Barbee, Gerald W. and Dona Barbee, and Allen R. and Deena Barbee; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Letha Adkins, Shirley and H. Charles Rothwell, Sue and Bill Sleeper, and Doris Franklin; 25 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary; and two grandchildren, Mickey Franklin and Jason Miller. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of William A.
