Briggs Funeral for Gordon C. Briggs, 80, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Lamondo Jenkins officiating. Mr. Briggs died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at his home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Veterans Field of Honor. He was born Sept. 5, 1921, in Byers, Texas, to Effie Eula Roberts and Orman Briggs. The family moved to Oklahoma to the Pecan Community, southeast of Mountain View, in 1923, where he attended elementary school. He graduated from Sedan High School in 1939. He married Lois "Loie" Evelyn Schouboe on May 17, 1941, in Carnegie. He was drafted into the Army on July 30, 1945, in Hobart. He was a veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged on Dec. 24, 1945, at Camp Chaffee, Ark. He was a farmer until he retired in 1972 and moved to Lawton. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary S. and Charlotte Briggs, Bremerton, Wash.; a daughte and son-in-lawr, Neta J. and Mike Millwee, Lawton; four grandchildren: Kevin Briggs, Washington; Terry Franck, California; Todd Millwee, Cache; and Leeca Jenkins and her husband Lamondo, Tulsa; three sisters: Dafne Sloan and Della Madden, both of Mountain View; and Donna Mae Fox, Frankston, Texas; four great- grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Otis Briggs and Tony Briggs; and a sister, Inez Zimmerman. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Lawton Area, P.O.
