Burgamy Funeral for Ralph R. Burgamy 78, Lawton, is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Burgamy died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his home. ========= Lawton Constitution August 21, 2003 Ralph R. Burgamy Funeral for Ralph R. Burgamy, 78, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Reuben Taylor, associate pastor, San Fernando, Calif., First Assembly of God, officiating. Mr. Burgamy died Monday, Aug. 20, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. He was born June 24, 1925, in Macon, Ga., to Marshall Edward and Evie Nancy Holder Burgamy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was involved in the Rhineland and Central Europe campaigns. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge, the EAME Service Medal with 2 Bronze service stars, the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Occupation Ribbon. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include five children: Malcolm Rogers Burgamy and his wife, Glenda; Las Vegas; Sheila Denise Burgamy, and Bruce Randall Burgamy, both of Lawton; R. Rodney Burgamy; Oklahoma City; Scarlet Dawn Semko and her husband, Ron, Orlando, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; a brother, Ravenell "Boots" Burgamy and his wife, Ethel, Columbus, Ga.; a sister, Betty Dilda, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Lee Hortman; two brothers: Raymond and Calvin Burgamy; and a sister, Ruth Olivia Marion.
