Robert WHITLEY, pastor, and the Rev. Larry THOMAS, pastor of Elgin Assembly of God Church, officiating. He died Friday morning at his home in Fletcher after a lengthy illness. Burial was in Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born in Garber, Oklahoma, on March 12, 1908, and had lived in that area until moving to Fletcher in 1921 with his parents. He had lived in the Elgin-Sterling-Fletcher area since that time. He married Mildred Bernice ETTER in Mar 1951, in Lawton and worked for L.D. WHITLOCK Trucking from 1952 until 1961. He also worked in the oil and gas fields. He retired in 1961. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; 3 daughters; 3 sons; 1 brother; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millie BARTLETT; 1 son, Carol Ward; 4 brothers; Floyd, Charlie, Dane, and Herbie, and 2 sisters; Eunice MC MURTRY and Mabel KELLY.
