All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 4 Apr 2003 David Wesley Burden FLETCHER - Funeral for David Wesley Burden, 82, Fletcher, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Assembly of God with the Rev. Robert Whitley, pastor, officiating. Mr. Burden died Thursday, April 3, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Fletcher Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Nov. 28, 1920, in Folsom. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He had lived in Fletcher since the early 1940s. He married Zelda E. Butler Dees on Aug. 30, 1972, in Lawton. She died June 7, 1992. He worked at the Fort Sill Golf Course before being employed with civil service at Fort Sill. He retired Dec. 28, 1985. He was a member of Fletcher Assembly of God, Disabled American Veterans, the Fletcher American Legion Post 306 for 44 years and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include two stepsons and their spouses: Danny and Priscilla Dees, Chickasha; and Calvin Leon and Wanda Dees, Lawton; and a sister, Daisy Ruthe Burden, Fletcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe F. Burden and Lue Etta Middleton Burden; and a brother, William Alexander Burden.
