The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== Jerry Merl Brandon, 65, field representative of Lawton Urban Renewal Authority, of 1120 Laird, died at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday (March 15, 1972) in Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City. He had entered the hospital about 3 p.m. Wednesday. Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday (March 17) in St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Lawton, with Rev. John Reskovac, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Waurika Cemetery under direction of Ritter-Dalton Funeral Home. A former city councilman, Mr. Brandon was born July 9, 1906, in Lawton. He married Edwina Nall of Waurika on February 15, 1931, in Marietta, Oklahoma. They lived in Clinton until 1934 when they moved to Waurika. In Waurika, Mr. Brandon served as president of the Chamber of Commerce and two terms as mayor. They returned to Lawton in 1954 where he served four years and three months as city councilman. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Association of Life Underwriters, Lawton Chamber of Commerce, and former member of Rotary Club and Northwest Kiwanis. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters: Mrs. Donald O. (Jerry Marilyn) Clark, Carlisle Barracks, PA., and Mrs. Ernest M. (Sheridan Ann) Drowatzky, Alexandria, LA.; one brother: Sanford Brandon, 1002 I, three sisters: Mrs. Orval Hanks, Burkburnett, Tex; Mrs. Viola Witsil, 1006 I, and Mrs. B. X.
