All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Sterling Cemetery--Sterling OK Lawton Constitution 1 Nov 2003 Joseph Glenn Brantley Funeral for Joseph Glenn Brantley, 89, Sterling, will be at 10 a.m. today at Sterling First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Rogers, pastor, officiating. Mr. Brantley died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at his son’s home. Burial will be at Sterling Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born June 16, 1914, in Waurika, to Joseph H. and Maggie Bell Proctor Brantley. When he was 15 he came to the Sterling area where he graduated from school. He married Lois Irene Clark on Aug. 23, 1935, in Sterling. She died May 22, 1984. He married Millie Smith in July 1987. She died March 9, 1995. He was a self-employed carpenter and worked until the late 70s. He was a member of Sterling First Baptist Church and a 32nd- degree Mason and Master Mason of the Pilot Lodge No. 367 Elgin. Survivors include two daughters: Beth Ann Glandon and her husband, Jim, Elgin; and Eva Jean Woods, Lawton; a son, Eddie Glenn Brantley and his wife, Mary, Sterling; four stepdaughters: Catherine Parsley and her husband, Jerry, Odessa, Texas; Evelyn Smith and Brenda Smith, both of Sterling; and Deanna Pate and her husband, Ted, Rush Springs; two stepsons: Lindel Smith, Lancaster, Texas; and Larry Smith and his wife, Donna, Duncan; two brothers: Billie Brantley, Sterling; and Monte Brantley, Muskogee; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Doyle and Melvin Brantley; and a grandson, Douglas Glenn Brantley. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lawton, P.O. Box 2074; Lawton 73502.
