All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Post Cemetery--Ft Sill OK Becker Funeral Home Obit 27 Sep 2005 COL (Retired) Edward Grady Brantley Age 77, Lawton - Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Rev. Philip Seeton, Pastor, officiating. COL Brantley died Tuesday in a local hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday evening in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel He was born February 20, 1928 in Blair, Oklahoma to Thurman T. and Ella Mae (Grady) Brantley. He served with the United States Marines during WW II, and was commissioned in 1951 into the Army at the University of Oklahoma. He retired after 33 years of service in August of 1979, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. While in the Army he served tours in Korea, Vietnam, two tours in Germany, Fort Monroe, VA, the Pentagon, and Fort Leavenworth, KS. He married Sally Ann Ring on December 18, 1956, at Fort Monroe, Virginia. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. This loyal, devoted, loving husband and father is survived by his wife-Sally R. Brantley of the home. 5 Daughters-Melinda Myers and husband Steve of Spiro, OK, Anne Taylor and husband Scott of Stillwater, OK, Kathryn Duguay and husband John of Wheaton, IL, Susan Nelson and husband Jeff of Moore, OK and Laura Vazquez and husband Roberto of Edwardsville, IL. 18 Grandchildren-Christopher Donohue, Steven Donohue, Erin Donohue, Sean Donohue, Amy Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Iain Duguay, Irene Duguay, Elise Duguay , Olivia Duguay, Matthew Nelson, Edward Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Caleb Nelson, Morgan Vazquez, Hannah Vazquez, and Colin Vazquez. 4 Great- grandchildren-Ashley Donohue, Ryan Donohue, Taylor Donohue and Hannah Donohue. 3 Nieces- Elizabeth Huggins of Springdale, AR, Rebecca Fowler of Texas, and Kathleen Brantley. 4 Nephews-Stan Brantley of Yukon, OK, Joseph Brantley of Yukon, OK, Michael Brantley and Patrick Brantley. 3 Sisters In-Law, Elizabeth Brantley of Oklahoma City, Marilyn Brantley of Wichita Falls, TX and Nancy Farmer of Killeen, TX. He was preceded in death by-Parents, Step-Mother Virgie McCloud Brantley Hoxer, and 3 Brothers-Charles S., Joe H., and Thurman T.
