Bruner DESTIN, Fla. - Word has been received of the death of former Lawton resident Nigell L. Bruner, 92, Destin, Fla. No service is planned. Mrs. Bruner died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at her home. Inurnment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla., under direction of Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She was born Nov. 9, 1910, in Faxon to Arthur P. and Jessie Roberts Galyon. She graduated from Lawton High School and Cameron Junior College. She taught school in Oklahoma and Colorado during most of her 20s. She married William Mayes, who died in 1938. She married career Army officer Robert C. Bruner in 1942. He died in 2001. They lived in Lawton; El Paso, Texas; and Babenhausen and Munich, Germany. After her husband's retirement, they lived in Arizona and Alaska. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: R. Doyle Bruner and Gail Baker, Niceville, Fla.; three grandchildren: Tracy Bruner Lee and David Bruner, both of Alaska; and Charles Bruner, Marana, Ariz; four great- grandchildren: Kary, Ashley, Christa and Rees, all of Alaska; a niece, Joy "Jody" Johnson Devall, Talihina; a nephew, Bill Johnson, Aurora, Colo.; and close friends, Stan and Ruth White, Tombstone, Ariz., and their children: Forrest, Phoenix; and Charny, Illinois.
