All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 28 Jan 2003 Maxine Cox Copley Maxine Cox Copley, 73, of Duncan, formerly of Brighton, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, in Duncan. Service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Ward officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Maxine was born March 24, 1929, in Loco, to Joe Franklin and Maggie Jewell Lawrence Cox. She married Thomas D. Copley on Aug. 8, 1946, in Lawton, after an eight day romance while Mr. Copley was stationed at Fort Sill. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2002. Mrs. Copley was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Duncan and enjoyed doing things for her church and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws, Tom and Sonja Copley of Tucson, Ariz., and Ed and Morrisa Copley of Marlow; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kate and Jerry Evans of Rushville, Ohio, and Kathy and Jerry Caywood of Wakeman, Ohio; a sister, Iva Jewell Bradshaw of Duncan; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Johnny Orin Cox, Billie Joe Cox and Donald Cox.
