Coffelt INDIAHOMA — Funeral for Herman O. Coffelt, 89, Indiahoma will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of Christ in Indiahoma with Duard Givens, retired minister, and Kirk Givens, minister, officiating. Mr. Coffelt died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at a local hospital. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Indiahoma, under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Snyder, to Henry O. and Bertha C. McCleary Coffelt. He attended and graduated from the Snyder School system before moving to Indiahoma. He was employed at Crow Oil Company for 17 years, where he served as general manager. He later was employed at First State Bank for 28 years, where he was the director, vice president, and a member of the board of directors. After his banking career ended, he devoted the rest of his life to raising beef cattle and served years as a chairman of the Comanche County Democratic Party. He was a member of Church of Christ in Indiahoma. He married Jewell Lee on July 29, 1933, in Indiahoma. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: Bobby Lee Coffelt and Jay Herman Coffelt, both of Indiahoma; a daughter-in-law, Cherry Coffelt, Indiahoma; two sisters: Juanita Carter, Oklahoma City; and Verda Kaland, San Diego, Calif.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
