All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Becker Funeral Home Obit 18 Dec 2005 CPT (Retired) Charles Wendell Covington Age 85, former Lawton resident, of Kimberling City, Missouri - Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Shaw, pastor officiating. CPT Covington died Sunday in Kimberling City. Burial with full military honors will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born January 25, 1920 in Oklahoma City to Homer Augustus and Alice Pauline (Spillman) Covington. He married Dorothy N. Wilson on December 17, 1941 in Angleton, Texas. She died June 23, 2002. CPT Covington was a veteran of World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the Army and Civil Service with a total of 40 years of service to the U.S. Government. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and Lawton Masonic Lodge #183, where he received his 50 year pin. He was also a member of the Guthrie Consistory, and the Guthrie Scottish Rite. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Charlotte A. and Jimmie Lee Beggs, Kimberling City, two grandchildren; Charles Ross Pennington and his wife Nicole, Allen, Texas, and Scott Wayne Pennington and his wife Patty, Moore, and five great grandchildren; Charles Jacob Pennington, Matthew Kyle Pennington, Ryan Scott Pennington, Taylor Paige Pennington, and Evan Wayne Pennington. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
