He was born Oct. 17, 1911 in Lawton, OK to Eugene and Lois (KNIGHT) CHEEK. He died April 23, 2001 at Modesto, CA. Joseph married Elva G. BONN, July 26, 1941, Yuma AZ. They made their home in North Bend in 1947. He was a driver/salesman for Gamers Bakery, Meadowland Foods, and retired from Mayflower Farms in 1973....He was active in citizen's band radio and was known state wide as "Lazy Bear". He was a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge, and was awarded the lodge's highest honor, a pilgrim's degree... He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elva G. CHEEK of North Bend; daughters, Delores EUSTED, Oceanside, CA and Angela WILLIAMS, Modesto, CA; sons; Joseph CHEEK, Tigard, OR, Tom CHEEK, Jackson, NC, and David CHEEK, Coos Bay, OR; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
