(Lee) Chase Age 79, Cache, Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Mike Bentley, Minister of University Church of Christ, Lawton, officiating. Venita died Wednesday in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indiahoma. She was born October 20, 1925 in Rocky, Oklahoma to Elbert and Ruth (Sutton) Powers. Her mother died shortly after her birth, and she went to live with her maternal grandparents, Hugh and Artie Sutton. They later moved to Indiahoma where Venita attended school and was active in many activities, including being a member of the band. On June 30, 1940 Venita joined the Indiahoma United Methodist Church. Later that year the family moved to California, and shortly after that time, she married L.O. Lee. To this marriage was born 3 daughters. She worked for many years at Fort Sill in Non-Appropriated Funds, until she retired in 1986. Survivors Include: 3 Daughters, Janet Lee Harris of Lawton, OK, Jeannie Lee & husband Dr. Chesley Montague of Lawton, OK and Linda R. Lee of Carrollton, TX. Brother: Robert E. & wife Mary Powers of San Bernardino, CA. 5 Grandchildren: Lindsi J. Harris of Lawton, OK, Dustin B. Strait of Irving, TX, Chris Strait & wife Sharon of Norman, OK, Dennis Strait & wife Gretchen of Kansas City, KS and Richard K. Strait & wife Kate of Flagstaff, AZ. 5 Great Grandchildren and Numerous other Relatives, Lifelong Friends and Classmates. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Grandparents.
