Mr. Cook died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at a local hospital. ========= Lawton Constitution 5 Dec 2003 Willis Dean Cook Funeral for Willis Dean Cook, 89, Lawton, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cameron Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Jones, pastor, officiating. Mr. Cook died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003 at a local hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born July 4, 1914, near Brooksmith, Texas, to Samuel Dean and Alta Roberts Cook. He came to Oklahoma with his family in October 1916. He grew up in the Healdton oil fields in Carter County. He graduated from Zaneis High School in 1933, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He married Jaunita Carroll on June 20, 1936, in Ardmore, and they moved to Lawton in March 1938. She died June 3, 2001. He was a carpenter and worked in construction for 48 years before retiring. He was a charter member, deacon and a Sunday School superintendent of Cameron Baptist Church. He was a Mason and a perpetual member of the Lawton Lodge No. 183 AF & AM. He was a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles Dean and Jackie Cook, Lawton; and Danny R. and Sue Cook, Wichita Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren: Rickey Dean Cook and wife, Laura, Chicago; Timothy Marshal Cook, Austin, Texas; Cissy Dianne Haddox and husband, Richard, Terre Haute, Ind.; Larry Paul Cook and wife, Jill, Meeker; Charles Dean "Deano’" Cook Jr. and wife, Simerly, Marietta, Ga.; Laci Dawn Booker and husband, Will "Monty" Booker III, San Diego; Paula Jean Nivison and husband, Keith, Guthrie; and M. Travis Bilbrey and wife, Shelly, Lawton; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Delbert Hugh Cook; and four brothers: George, Dow, Tom and Calvin.
