Cox, 80, Geronimo, is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mr. Cox died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in a local hospital. Richard Lee Davis APACHE — Funeral for Richard Lee Davis, 58, Apache, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Apache First Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Shade, pastor, officiating. Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Fairview Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Aug. 11, 1945, in Apache. He attended school at Broxton and entered the Army on Aug. 13, 1963. He was honorably discharged July 31, 1969, after serving during the Vietnam War as a tank mechanic. He returned to this area and married Phyllis Gill on Jan. 14, 1972, in Apache. He farmed in this area all his life and did carpentry work. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Richard Joseph Davis, of the home; a daughter, Terry Gale Henry, Ada; his mother, Cletha Darnell, Lawton; two brothers: Donnie B. Davis, Eufaula; and James Davis, Broxton; a sister, Barbara Shackleford, Birmingham, Ga.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Beverly Davis. ========= Lawton Constitution 14 Dec 2003 Bill L. Cox GERONIMO — Funeral for Bill L. Cox, 80, Geronimo, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Geronimo, with the Revs. Herschel R. Lindsey, retired Baptist minister, Lawton, and Eddie Coast, Geronimo, officiating. Mr. Cox died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003. Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Faxon. He was a lifetime resident of Comanche County. He married Dorothy Ellen Sanmann on Aug. 20, 1942, in Lawton. She died July 31, 2003. He was a distributor for Meads Bread Company and Fairmont Foods. He later was employed by Ellsworth and Dawson Texaco. He retired as a self-employed master mechanic. He was a member of the Geronimo Lions Club and First Baptist Church of Geronimo. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Danny Cox and Felecia, Lawton; a granddaughter, D’esirae Lee Schneider and her husband, Rodney, Lawton; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Lee "Duffy" Dunnigan and Robert, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael Cox and Rosemary, Columbus, Ohio; extended family: Rose, Rocky and Sara Dawn White, Denny and Laurel Baker, and Herman and Barbara Schneider, all of Lawton; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and family.
