All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitutuion 8 Sep 2004 Ted Castle STERLING -- Funeral for Theodore Ira "Ted" Castle, 65, Sterling, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sterling First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Lawrence, pastor, Central High Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Castle died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Sterling Cemetery under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Sept. 25, 1938 in Canadian, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Crawford and Cheyenne. He and his family traveled around with their father who worked in the oil fields. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. He married Shirley Ann Jeffreys in Lawton on Oct. 15, 1962. They moved to Sterling in February 1963. He worked in the oil fields in Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska and Oklahoma. He worked civil service at Fort Sill as a locomotive engineer and mechanic, retiring in 1988. He then worked for Northrop and I.T.T. at Fort Sill until retiring again. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Nora Lynn and Gene Sovo, and Glenda Battle Pilkington and Alex, all of Sterling, four grandchildren: Gina Lynette Sovo and Shannon Raylene Sovo, both of Lawton; Terry Battle and Shirley Eva Pilkington, both of Sterling; three great-grandsons: Terry, Tony and Eric; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Linda Castle, Oklahoma City; Jackie Charles and Donetta Castle, Vici; and Curtis and Jackie Castle, Crawford; a sister, Mary Joe Arthur, Bentonville, Ark.; his mother-in-law, Nora Lorene Jeffreys, Sterling; a brother- in-law, Curtis Jeffreys and his wife, Nora Belle, Sterling; and a sister-in-law, Norma Fijo and her husband, George, Little Rock, Ark.
