Coady Funeral for Marcella O. Coady, 80, Lawton, is pending with Becker Funeral Home. Mrs. Coady died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Lawton. ========= Lawton Constitution 12 Dec 2003 Marcella O. Coady Funeral for Marcella O. Coady, 80, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Gary W. Cook, pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Coady died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born Dec. 29, 1922, in Raton, N.M., to Lilburn O. and Dorothy Lucille Abshere. She came to the Anadarko area as a young girl, and was a graduate of Anadarko High School. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone until her children were born. She later worked for the Comanche County School superintendent, and was retired from the Comanche County Election Board. She married John H. Coady on Sept. 2, 1947, at Wichita Falls, Texas. He died July 22, 1998. She was a member of VFW Post No. 5263 Ladies’ Auxiliary, and served as a volunteer and assistant director for the Easter Pageant at the Holy City for more than 30 years. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Sandy Coady, Forest, Va.; and Don and Pat Coady, Lawton; a son-in-law, Bill Odle, Killeen, Texas; eight grandchildren: Tammy, Angie, Jay, Michelle, Christina, Kim, David and Lauri; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Odle; and two brothers: Marvin and Wayne Abshere.
