All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 12 Nov 2003 James Calloway Jr. Funeral for James Calloway Jr., 74, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Lawton Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Montie Jones officiating. Mr. Calloway died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, in Lawton Burial will be at Post Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. He was born June 8, 1929, in Cinncinati, Ohio, to Monnie Ford and James Calloway Sr. He married Linnie Bowling in Lawton. He served in the U.S. Army for 22 years and retired with the rank of sergeant first class. His awards include the Combat Infantry Badge with Star, the Master Jump award with 485 jumps, the Air Assault Badge, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with valor, the Purple Heart and many others. After retirement he worked at the Fort Sill Commissary for 15 years until he retired because of ill health. He was a member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Lynda Lindsey and her husband Dennis, Tulsa; and two grandchildren: Megan Lindsay, Pittsburgh; and Molly Lindsey, Tulsa.
