No service is planned at this time. Mr. Caldwell died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at a Lawton hospital. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home. He was born March 18, 1928, in Cogar, to Eugene and Dovie Kathryn Caldwell. He married Lillie Lang in Germany. She died Jan. 23, 2003. He grew up in Cogar and Mustang, and graduated from high school in Mustang. He retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant on Aug. 31, 1970. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1992. He lived in Salem, Ore., for 34 years, moving to Lawton in April 2003. Survivors include his mother, San Antonio; a sister and brother-in-law, Clara Dean and George Somerville, San Antonio; two brothers and sisters-in- law: Billy Wayne and Dean Caldwell, Oklahoma City; and Alton J. "Al" and Donna Caldwell, Lawton; many nieces and nephews; and friends, neighbors and special loved ones in Salem. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister; and a brother, Gerald Leon Caldwell.
