All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 05 July 2003 Richard Vernon Cannon Funeral for Richard Vernon Cannon, 46, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Becker Memorial Chapel with his brother, Howard K. Cannon, officiating. Mr. Cannon died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in a Lawton hospital. Burial with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Lawton. He enlisted in the Army Dec. 1, 1975, and served until December, 1979. He was a medic with the 4th Platoon 507th Medical Company. After he was discharged from the Army he attended Cameron University, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and one in psychology. He worked as a salesman until ill health forced his early retirement. He was a lifelong resident of Lawton. Survivors include his mother, Nilah J. Cannon, Riverdale, Utah; four brothers: Howard K. Cannon, Apache; Harold E. Cannon, Lawton; Thomas L. Cannon, Tampa, Fla.; and William R. Cannon; Riverdale, Utah; many aunts, uncles and other relatives.He was preceded in death by his father, Luther R. Cannon, and his grandparents: C. Noble and Adeline Cannon.
