Mr. Craig died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at a local hospital. ========= Lawton Constitution 4 Jan 2003 Joe Bob Craig Funeral for Joe Bob Craig, 69, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. James D.M. Stafford, pastor, officiating. Mr. Craig died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Fort Sill to Romey and Katie Brusenham Craig. He received his bachelor's degree in education from Texas Christian University, and his master's from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He married Lois Ann Wiley on May 28, 1966, in Lawton. After college, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army. When he was discharged from the Army he taught in Phoenix, Ariz., for eight years. He then moved to Lawton, and taught for 22 more years. He also coached football and track while in Lawton. He participated in the Boulevard of Lights for a number of years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the YMCA, the American Legion Post No. 29 and the Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: William S. Craig, Santa Clara, Calif.; and Jon George, Abilene, Texas; a daughter, Theresa Vickers, Lawton; two grandchildren: Casey Ann and Tyler Vickers; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Pauline and Preston Snapp, Phoenix; and Jean Jarousak, Lawton; a brother, Buzz Craig, New York; two sisters-in-law: Hatsuko Craig and Opal Thurman and her husband, Ronald, all of Lawton; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Wiley; and Kenneth Wiley and his wife, Susan; and several other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William T. Craig; and his stepfather, John Cotton.
