He had five sisters and four brother. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two brother, a wife Josephine, a daughter Pamela, and a granddaughter, Larissa. Mr Crosby confessed his love for Christ and became a member of the St John Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Dr J L Davenport. He served as a deacon, and loved to lead devotion. His favorite song was, "Guide Me O Thou, Great Jehovah". He married Josephine Neelon. Together they gave guidance, love and leadership to three children. A committed and responsible man, Mr Crosby found many avenues to demonstrate his leadership abilities and his unselfish commitment to helping others. He entered the United States Army in 1946; and he retired honorably in 1966. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He had worked for many years as a contract carrier for the Lawton Constitution. He departed this life, Saturday, April 1, 1995. He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his wife Irma Jean, Red Oak Texas; a daughter, Charlotte Cheathma, Lawton, Oklahoma; two sons, Robert Crosby, Lawton, Oklahoma and Jerrial Shavers, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two step- sons, Chris Jackson, Red Oaks, Texas and Andre' Hancock, Oakland, California; five sisters, Earlene Tooms, Dora Broughton, Jeraldine Bagsby, Shirley Alcorn, all of Muskegon, Michigan, and Dorothy of Tucson, Arizona; two brother, George and William Crosby, both of Muskegon, Michigan; ten grandchildren, Chauncey, Keiko, Lemont, and Saymone Jackon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
