Crosson Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class James D. Crossan, 75, Lawton, is pending with Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Sgt. Crossan died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at his home. =========== Lawton Constitutuion 8 Sep 2004 James D. Crossan Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class James D. Crossan, 75, Lawton, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles E. Kriss, retired minister, officiating. Mr. Crossan died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at his home. Burial will be at Post Cemetery at Fort Sill, under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Hazy, W. Va., to Philip and Mollie Webb Crossan. He grew up in Hazy, and after graduating from Kingston High School, he joined the United States Army. He served in Korea; Germany; and Trieste, France. He was an instructor of communications at Fort Sill until his retirement from the Army. He worked as a cross-country truck driver, then worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant as a service trucker until his retirement Feb. 12, 1992. He married Norma "June" Vaughan on Dec. 26, 1959, in Altus. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of the adult I Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons: James T. Crossan and his wife, Taira, Cache; and Steven C. Crossan, Wichita Falls, Texas; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Gene and Peggy Crossan, Coldspring, Texas; Tom and Vernell Crossan, Rexburg, Idaho; Herman and Betty Crossan, Macon, Ga., and Joe Crossan, California; and three grandsons: Zachary James, Dustin Thomas and Kadyn Dale Crossan, all of Cache.
