All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Whinery-Huddleston--Lawton OK Corey, Betty Josephine (Williams) Word has been received that Betty Josephine Corey passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Betty was born December 2, 1929 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Mertis Mae and John Henry Williams. She was formerly of Lemoore. Betty graduated from Lemoore High School. Betty married CSM John I. Corey at Camp Cook, California on Nov. 1, 1951. She was a steadfast Army wife supporting her husband for 32 years while he served in the United States Army. They were stationed at numerous posts throughout the country and Germany. Betty was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and cooking. She also enjoyed bowling in various leagues for over 40 years, receiving numerous awards. Betty also worked for many years at Cedar Crest Manor in Lawton. Her family will miss her wonderful sense of humor. Betty is survived by two sons, John Robert Corey Sr., and Daniel S. Corey Sr., of Lawton, Oklahoma; two daughters, Susan and Norbert Holzmann of Tempe, Arizona, and Elizabeth and Eddie Taito of Tempe, Arizona; her grandchildren, Trisha Fleming and husband Frank of Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Jennifer Weston and husband Billy of Nevada, John Robert Corey Jr. and wife CiCi of Bremerton, Washington, Katy-Lynn Corey of Nevada, Garrit Ross of Arizona, Greg and Melanie Holzmann of Arizona; Steven and Leilani Taito of Arizona, Daniel Jr. and Alexis Corey of Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ara and Fred Stettler of Nevada and Bobbie Ruth Bradshaw of California. Betty also leaves behind relatives and friends in Lemoore. Arrangements are under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Services, 6210 NW Cache Road, Lawton, OK 73505.
