Dees Funeral for Alfred T. Dees, 83, Lawton, will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher, with the Rev. Myrl and Wanda Kellett, pastors, First Freewill Baptist Church, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Dees died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Mountain View Cemetery east of Fletcher. He was born May 2, 1919, in Wylam, Ala. He was raised in Alabama and married Willie Mae Argent on Jan. 8, 1938, in Parrish, Ala. She died Jan. 9, 2000. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a coal miner for more than 20 years before moving to Lawton in 1958. He also worked as a carpet installer before retiring in 1973. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Lawton; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Disabled American Veterans; and the American Legion. Survivors include two daughters: Dora Ann Hutchinson, Geronimo; and Karen Miller and her husband Jim, Savannah, Ga.; two sons: Tommy Dees and his wife, Cherry, Lawton; and Gary W. Dees and his wife, Wanda, Lawton; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
