All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Letitia Cemetery--Letitia OK Arlena Shuman ‘Sis’ Davenport Graveside service for Arlena Shuman "Sis" Davenport, 70, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Letitia Cemetery east of Lawton with the Rev. Herschel Lindsey, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Mrs. Davenport died Monday, May 6, 2002, at a local hospital. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home. She was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Laverne to Frank and Hazel Marie Shuman. She attended school through 11th grade in Laverne. She married Darvin "Dusty" Davenport on May 31, 1947, in Ashland, Kan. She returned to school after marriage and graduated from Englewood High School. The family moved many times over the years, following her husband’s work. They settled in Lawton in 1971. She managed the shoe department for TG&Y until it closed, then worked for the J.C. Hester Company. She obtained her realtor license and worked for Parks Jones Realty and Eastside Realty. She retired when her husband became ill. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Marilyn and Bruce Cline, Lawton; and Connie and Richard Beeman, Muncie, Ind.; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Mickey and Barbie Davenport, Mustang; Rod and Jolinda Davenport, Sweeny, Texas; and Roger Davenport and his friend Londa Broom, Sand Springs; nine grandchildren: Grant, Greg, Chad, Brian, Richard Lee II, Deanna, Dusty, Brandy and J.D.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her mother-in-law, Jo Stipe; and two sisters: Stella Brisendine and Marjorie Ann Shuman.
