All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 19 Apr 2003 Clifford Craig Dossey Funeral for Clifford Craig Dossey, 79, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Becker Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Dossey died Thursday, April 17, 2003, in Ardmore. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. He was born Nov. 15, 1923, southeast of Lawton. He attended Lawton High School, and received his pilot's license at age 16. He joined the military in 1942, and served with the 473rd Bombardment Squadron, AAF, in the American campaign. He also served in the Army of Occupation with the 1110th Military Police Company. He married Mildred Lee Howard in 1944. After he was discharged from the military in 1946, he farmed and ranched southeast of Lawton until 1971. He also worked as an aviation mechanic for Bell, Spartan, Hawthorn and Southern Aviation at Fort Sill. He was chosen as the outstanding 4-H Club coach for Comanche County, and was awarded a trip to the American Expedition in Kansas City. In 1957, his family was selected Comanche County Farm Bureau Farm Family of the Year. He owned and operated his own airfield, Hilltop Aviation from 1971-2001. He authored a self-maintenance book for small plane owners in 1977, and was a small aircraft maintenance inspector for Southwest Oklahoma. Survivors include five children and their spouses: Kathy and Roger Allen, Tyler, Texas; Jerry and Linda Dossey, Bella Vista, Ark.; Jim and Sue Dossey, Benton, La.; John and Debbie Dossey, Bentonville, Ark.; and Karyl and Glenn Bunzey, Longmont, Colo.; 12 grandchildren: Heather and Ryan Dossey, Fayetteville, Ark; Alex Dossey, Destin, Fla.; Ben Dossey, Landisville, Pa.; Jennifer and Shannon Diller, Columbia, S.C.; Mary Dossey, Benton; Kerri and Brian Dossey, Clinton, Miss.; Lane Allen, College Station, Texas; Sydney and Hailey Bunzey, Longmont; and a great- grandson, Austin Dossey, Clinton, Miss. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and an infant sister.
