All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Merced District Cemetery--Merced CA Doremus, Sandra "Sue" Sandra "Sue" Doremus was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, the daughter of Raymond W. and Maude E. Crossland, the second of their three children. Her family moved to California shortly after she was born, and settled in Alameda in 1942, where she attended school. Following graduation from high school, Sue began her career with the telephone company, which she served as a loyal employee for 43 years and where she was renowned for her customer service. Sue married James I. McKee and moved to Merced in 1960, where she made her home with her three sons. Following the tragic loss of her husband Jim, she cared for her family with the support of her mother. In 1980 she married Eddie Doremus of Merced, and they shared life as loving parents and grandparents until his death in 1992. Sue retired in 1999 and moved back to Merced, enjoying her family, friends, and loved ones. Sue is survived by her three sons and their families, Michael McKee of Davis, Scott and wife Carm McKee of Merced, and Mark McKee and wife Cathy Shelburne of Waterbury, Connecticut, by her daughter-in- law Gaye Lynn Mullen of Merced, by her stepdaughter Katherine and husband Bob Overend of Francestown, New Hampshire, and by seven grandchildren, Jason, Steven, Camille, Katalina, Antonia, and Emily McKee, and Jack Overend. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Sharon Crossland of Scotts Valley, her sister-in-law Gayne Crossland of San Luis Obispo, and by many dear friends. Sue took great pride in her family and was a beloved mother and grandmother who supported her children's and grandchildren's education. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her husband Eddie, and her brother Raymond. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched with her generous spirit. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2007 from 4-7 PM, at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 10 am at Merced District Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
