All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 30 Jun 2005 Cody Revere Ellsworth OKLAHOMA CITY -- Funeral for Cody Revere Ellsworth, 90, Oklahoma City, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at John M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel, 120 S. Broadway, Moore. Mr. Ellsworth died Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in Oklahoma City. He was born Aug. 25, 1914, in McLoud to Bessie and Edgar Ellsworth Sr. He was valedictorian at McLoud High School and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He married Angeline Durling on May 3, 1937. He was a salesman for Armour and Company and moved to Lawton Meat Supply. He later began Ellsworth Bottling Company, which eventually included a quarter of Southwest Oklahoma. While in Lawton, he joined the First Christian Church, where he taught high school Sunday school and the couples' class. He was mayor of Lawton for three terms. During this time, a new lake was dedicated to him and named Lake Ellsworth. He and his wife retired to Silverton, Colo., and later to Durango, Colo. He later moved to Oklahoma City. After his wife's death, he became a hospice volunteer with Red River Hospice and Autumn Bridge Hospice. He was named the volunteer of the year in 2002. He joined Moore First United Methodist Church and was involved in teaching. He was a member of Friendship Sunday school class. Survivors include his daughter, Helen Lynne; a grandson and his family, Paul, Jana, Tracy and Kelly Ellison; a brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Evelyn Ellsworth; a sister-in-law, Kitty Ellsworth; several nieces: Kay Johnson, Janet Robinson and J.W., Cathy Hall, Barbara Cooper and Phyllis Mills; and a nephew, Don Ellsworth. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Curtis; two sisters: Wanda Matthews and Verna Robinson; a niece, Marilyn Webb; and a great- nephew, Mark.
