Emerick Age 68 - Lawton, will be at 1:30 pm Friday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Sergeant Emerick died Monday in a Lawton hospital. Burial with full military honors will be in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born December 13, 1936 at Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He graduated high school in Ft. Wayne and entered the U.S. Army. He served in the Army for more than twenty years and retired July 31, 1981 at Fort Sill. He was a veteran of Vietnam and his awards include the National Defense Service Medal with First Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal with three service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, Two Overseas Service Bars, Good Conduct Medal Sixth Award, Meritorious Service Medal and the Sharpshooter (rifle M-16) Badge. He married Kuk Cha Yang on October 24, 1979 at Wichita Falls, Texas. He also had worked as a bus driver for the Lawton Public Schools for several years and was a member of VFW Post #5263.
