'Dick' Ford Jr. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Memorial service for former Lawton resident Walter D. "Dick" Ford Jr., Albuquerque, N.M., will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jemez Springs Church, Jemez Springs, N.M. Mr. Ford died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. He was born May 16, 1921, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to Nancy Ruth Spann and W.D. Ford Sr. He grew up in Lawton and married Dorothy Helen Bowling in 1944. They were involved in Centenary Methodist Church in Lawton. After graduation from Oklahoma State University, he joined his father in the construction firm of W.D. Ford and Son in Lawton. Following retirement in 1975, he and his wife moved to the Jemez Springs area where they became involved at Jemez Springs Presbyterian Church. He was instrumental in raising funds for and constructing a new sanctuary and classroom section of the church.
