Franks, Lawton, are pending with Gray Funeral Home, Grandfield. Mrs. Franks died Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Lawton. ========= Lawton Constitution 15 July 2003 Leona S. Franks GRANDFIELD — Funeral for Leona S. Franks, 81, Grandfield, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gray Funeral Home Chapel, Grandfield, with Jim Antwine, Lawton, officiating. Mrs. Franks died Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Grandfield Memorial Cemetery. She was born Jan. 10, 1922, at Forney, to James B. and Alice E. Riddle Satterfield. She grew up in eastern Oklahoma and married William Austin Franks on Aug. 8, 1939, at Antlers. He died June 25, 2000. After her marriage, she lived and worked in Nelson. She moved to the Grandfield area in 1948, and into Grandfield in 1963. She was a trimmer at a sewing factory in Frederick for 15 years. She was a homemaker, and raised her family and many other children. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, William James Franks, Urbana, Mo.; two daughters: Edna Franks Schultz, Grandfield; and Wanda Lee Draftz, Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers: Harvy Satterfield, Bolivar, Mo.; Raymond B. Satterfield, Blair, Neb.; Ira Satterfield, Antlers; three sisters: Ruby McAlister, Hugo; Alma Jones and Dorothy Davis, both of Wichita Falls, Texas; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Grandfield Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 655, Grandfield 73546.
