"Dub" Farmer Jr. Funeral for retired Sgt. 1st Class W. V. "Dub" Farmer Jr., 73, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dale Dickinson, pastor, Lighthouse Church, Diamond City, Ark., officiating. Sgt. Farmer died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Harrison, Ark., to Minita Rifley and W.V. Farmer Sr. He married Mary F. Smith in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Dec. 8, 1974. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three brothers: Ray Farmer, Lead Hill, Ark.; and Fred and Wayne Farmer, both of Harrison; and three sisters: Wanda Hall, Belton, Mo.; Helen Pilton, Springfield, Mo.; and Imogene Carter, Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
