Gittens Jr. Funeral for Eli "E.G." Gittens Jr., 69, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Snyder First Baptist Church with the Rev. Maurice L. Ford officiating. Mr. Gittens Jr. died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003 in Lawton. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Jefferson Funeral Home. He was born April 22, 1934, in Snyder to Eli and Lillie Gittens Sr. He attended Snyder Public School and came to Lawton in 1973 from Snyder. He married Ruby Pratt. He was a construction worker for the City of Lawton until his retirement. He was a member and a trustee of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Snyder. Survivors include his wife, Snyder; seven brothers: Albert Gittens, Donald Gittens and his wife, Aretha, Johnny Lee Gittens, and Bobby Gittens, all of Lawton; Jeremiah Gittens and his wife, Mary, Joe Neal Gittens, and Samuel Gittens and his wife, Mary, all of Snyder; two sisters: Marie Tubbs and husband, Leroy, Snyder; and Ruby Spencer, Lawton; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a special friend, Juanita Biggins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Arthur and Monty Gittens; a sister, Mable Gittens; a son, Christopher Gittens; four stepsons: Carl Brown Jr., Timothy Biggins, Walter Biggins and Johnny Biggins; and two stepdaughters: Glenda Washington, and Ann Biggins.
