All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Harlan Samuel Gandy Dec. 21, 1907 Sept. 8, 2002 Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., on Wednesday, September 11, 2002, at 9:30 a.m., for Harlan Samuel Gandy, 95, who passed away September 8, 2002, in Bakersfield. Pastor Jack Taylor will officiate. Mr. Gandy was born on December 21, 1907, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He served with the Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Gandy was a member of Faith Nazarene Church. He enjoyed music by Jimmie Rodgers, his favorite song being When Its Roundup Time In Texas and his favorite color was brown. Harlan was preceded in death by his brother, Forrest Gandy. He is survived by nephews, Millard Kern and Jerry Kern, both of Bakersfield, Albert Dyer of Portland, Oregon and Ralph Dyer of Eureka, California; nieces, Lola Whaley of Oklahoma and Audrey Baugh of Redding, CA; twin sisters, Ida A. Carnahan of Bakersfield and Eda Batten of Redding, CA. No visitation is scheduled.
