Garner GERONIMO -- Funeral for Charles H. Garner, 49, Geronimo, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Geronimo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Herschel R. Lindsey, Baptist minister, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Garner died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Flower Mound Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born May 26, 1953, in Vernon, Texas, to Henry K. and Vera M. Smith Garner. He married Marsha Murphy in Vernon on April 27, 1971. He was a commercial carpenter, and a member of the Carpenter’s Local No. 1585. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Geronimo Fire Department for 22 years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharla McCall and David, Elgin; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles H. Garner Jr. and Jennifer, Geronimo; a grandson, Kyle McCall, Elgin; a sister, Jewel Ward, Lawton; his mother-in-law, Helen Murphy, Geronimo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1305 W. Gore, Suite A, Lawton 73501.
