Hicks Funeral for Jessie M. Hicks, 89, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. today at Letitia Baptist Church, east of Lawton, with the Rev. Bubba Clark, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Hicks died Monday, March 17, 2003, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Letitia Cemetery, east of Lawton, under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 5, 1914, east of Lawton, to Bill and Artie Bardsher. She married Carl F. Hicks Sr. on Nov. 23, 1937, in Duncan. He died June 3, 1995. She was a member of Letitia Baptist Church. She was a 50-year member of both the Roseland Home Extension Club and the Comanche County and Oklahoma Home and Community Education Organization. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Carl F. Jr. and Sandy Hicks, Grapevine, Texas; and Fred S. and Cheryl Hicks, Lawton; a sister, Ruth Smith, Lawton; a brother-in-law, David Harmon, Lawton; a sister-in- law, Gladys Bardsher, Duncan; nine grandchildren: Karen Page and Colt Orman, both of Lawton; James Hicks and Tim Watt, both of Houston; Michael Hicks and Charles Hicks, both of Oklahoma City; John Orman, Moore; Patti Orman, Newalla; and Jeff Watt, Dallas; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Carl F. Hicks III; three sisters: Blanche Light, Grace Dove and Ruby Harmon, and three brothers: Henry Bardsher, Jake Bardsher and Fred Bardsher.
