"Norman" Highfill OKLAHOMA CITY — Memorial service for former Lawton resident N. E. "Norman" Highfill, 88, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Nursing Home. Mr. Highfill died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003. He was born Aug. 3, 1915, in Stratford, and grew up in Wilson. After high school graduation, he received a bachelor's degree from what is now the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). He moved to Lawton, where he was a teacher and tennis coach at the high school. He then began a long career with the U.S. Postal Service. After retirement, he established an accounting practice in Lawton and later in Oklahoma City, where he moved with his wife in 1992. He was active in many civic organizations including the Lions' Club, the UCO Alumni Association and the Public Accountants' Association. He served as district governor and chapter president for the Lion's Club and Lion of the Year in 1986. He was named a distinguished graduate by the UCO Alumni Association, and in 1995 he was recognized as Accountant of the Year by the Public Accountants' Association. Survivors include his wife, Eva Dell; two daughters: Karen Highfill, Midwest City; and Jean Ann Robison and husband, Reid, of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren and their spouses: Brian and Madeline Robison, Dallas; and Amy and Daniel Johnson, Norman.
