All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 17 Nov 2003 Oretha Pauline Huggins Funeral for Oretha Pauline Huggins, 82, Lawton will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Shepherd, pastor, Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church, officiating. Mrs. Huggins died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Konawa to Jesse James and Estelle Brewster Teague. She attended school in Southwest Oklahoma. She married Oren "Pete" Huggins on Oct. 7, 1953, in Wise County, Texas. He died in April 1959. She traveled in Germany, Austria and the United States with her husband during his military career and settled in Lawton after his death. She worked as a cook at Johnson's Milk Company and Roosevelt School and was a dietitian at Southwestern Medical Center. She was a member of the Rebekah of Oddfellows, where she served as Noble Grand. She was also an RSVP volunteer, a member of the PTA and was a deaconess at New Hope Christian Fellowship. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Earl Francis Huggins and his wife, Delana, Walters; a brother, George AC Teague, Lawton; two grandchildren: Selena Cain and her husband, Paige, Fort Worth, Texas; and Anthony Huggins, Lawton; a great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews from three generations; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Etolia Garrett; a niece, Dolores Garrett; and a nephew, Wayne Garrett.
