Hagar Age 93, former Lawton resident, Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Thursday in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Hagar died Monday in Enid. Burial will be under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. He was born November 7, 1911 at Carney, Oklahoma, to William J. and Eva Irene Hagar. After graduation from Carney High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 22, 1935 at Fort Sill. During World War II his artillery unit saw action in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. Other tours of overseas duty included Korea, Japan, and West Germany. He retired from the army on October 31, 1955. He worked for the Department of Communication/Electronics at the Field Artillery School at Fort Sill from November 1, 1955 until June 30, 1972. He was married to Mildred M. Lynch on May 12, 1960 in Lawton. She preceded him in death March 21, 1985. Survivors include two step daughters, Sondra Lynch, Phoenix, Arizona, and Lynda O’Neal and husband David, Enid, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Deborah Byrne and husband James, South Dakota, and DeLisa DeLeo, San Diego, California; a grandson, Kenny O’Neal, Enid.
