Lynn E. Brack, senior pastor, Weatherford First United Methodist Church, and the Rev. William F. Todd, senior pastor, Centenary United Methodist Church, officiating. Mrs. Haines died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at her home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home. She was born June 7, 1912, in Elgin, to Harvey and Hattie Hagle. She attended school in Elgin and Fletcher, and was an All-State guard on the state championship girls' basketball team. She also attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. She married Elman Johnson Haines on Jan. 31, 1933, in Tipton. He died Dec. 5, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of the Domestic Science Club. She was involved in PTA and the PTA Council for many years. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a member and past treasurer of the United Methodist Women, and a member of the Builder's Sunday School Class. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Kay Young, Tulsa; and Sharon and Jim Hamilton, Lawton; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Becky Haines, Winter Park, Colo.; a brother, Frank Hagle, Grand Prairie, Texas; nine grandchildren: Amy Young, New York; Melinda Carlson, Arlington, Va.; Sarah Penrod, Tulsa; Matthew Hamilton, Edmond; Julie Hamilton, Lawton; Mark Hamilton, Moore; Spencer Haines, Norman; Micah Haines, San Diego; and Thomas Haines, Ft. Collins, Colo.; and two great- grandchildren: Lauren Anne Carlson and Joshua Dean Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
